Award-winning, international pet photographer Kristie Lee is offering an exciting opportunity for photographers who love photographing pets. Kristie will be hands-on to show you how to capture the unique personality of animals and learn how she styles and poses owners with their pets, creating portraits with beauty and connection. In this two day workshop Kristie will show you how she shoots to maximize sales, plus she will demonstrate how she finishes her pet portraits in Photoshop. We guarantee you will leave with not only newly acquired skills and techniques, but also with new creative tools that will take your portraits to the next level.
Day 1: We will begin in the morning, with an introduction and review lighting, backgrounds, posing and creative direction in a keynote presentation. Kristie will also share her formula and process for shooting to maximize her portrait sales. After breaking for lunch, we will regroup and everyone will have the opportunity to shoot in the studio with our dog models and owners. We will be focusing on creating stylized pet portraits that also show the deep connection animals share with their owners.
Day 2: We will start with an overview of the day before and then get straight into part two of the practical side of photographing cats. As we know they are very different to dogs and require a little more time and patience, so Kristie will demonstrate the way she is able capture these unpredictable creatures and create art pieces. The second portion of the day will be a retouching / Photoshop segment where we will go through the post-producing process that Kristie uses to retouch her images, giving them a fine art fashion finish.
At the end of the second day you will also have the option of attending a wrap-up dinner with Kristie and the team to extend the conversation of the workshop and get to know each other over dinner & drinks! We encourage group networking during the workshop and many students leave to connect in the business world.
